Adam Smith published this essay in 1759, concerned with the ethical and moral issues that sooner or later impact on the economic life of individuals, transforming their entire existence.

Adam Smith was one of the most representative exponents of classical economics, since he introduced a series of new concepts that led him to develop the foundations of economic liberalism, which made him worthy of the title of father of modern economics. The Wealth of Nations is considered his most important work, because in it he carefully analyzes ? not only from an economic, but also from a social, historical and moral point of view? the economy of his time, criticizing in particular the mercantilist system that prevailed and advocating a free market system that was uncommon at the time, but undoubtedly still in force and studied in depth today, more than two centuries later.

The Creative Industries (IICC) are those that have their origin in individual creativity, skills and talent, and that have a potential for the creation of wealth and jobs through the generation and exploitation of intellectual property (The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, UK-DCMS, 2001). The United Nations considers that they are also cycles of creation, production and distribution of goods and services that use creativity and intellectual capital as primary inputs; they constitute a set of knowledge-based activities, focused but not limited to the arts, potentially generating income from trade and intellectual property rights; they comprise tangible products and intangible intellectual or artistic services with creative content, economic value and market objectives; they are a cross between the craft, cultural, service and industrial sectors and constitute a new area of economic growth (in some countries it has been called the orange economy).
